Nikki didn’t choose addiction. Now she needs help to get better.
Young people addicted to drugs and alcohol need help. Statistically, they have the best chance to overcome their addiction and start again. But only if they get the RIGHT CARE.
Young people addicted to drugs and alcohol need help. Statistically, they have the best chance to overcome their addiction and start again. But only if they get the RIGHT CARE.
Especially not for a child.
Most often addiction is the result of childhood trauma, mental illness or homelessness. Sir David Martin Foundation is one of a few organisations that specialise in helping young people between the ages of 16 and 24 break free from their dependence on drugs and alcohol.
But they often end up in adult rehabilitation facilities that are not equipped to treat them. In fact, putting teenagers as young as 16 into adult facilities can be dangerous.
Without specialised care designed for them, young people usually fall through the cracks and end up relapsing.
Sir David Martin Foundation funds Triple Care Farm – a purpose-built treatment facility designed for young people to get well and overcome their addiction.
Almost every young person in rehab at Triple Care Farm has experienced a severe trauma, which led to their addiction in the first place.
The detox and rehab programs we fund are specially designed and run to help young people overcome their addiction.
Triple Care Farm gives young people:
requesting help for drug and alcohol addiction are under 30
who need our help also live with mental illness, often undiagnosed
With the support of our generous donors, over 3,000 young people’s lives have been saved. In the six months after they graduate from the program, we see:
Dylan was 21 years old when he referred himself to Triple Care Farm rehab to address concerns of methamphetamine use.
As a child, Josie was subjected to physical and mental abuse from her mother – this trauma went on to play a significant part in her physical and mental health.
Matthew shines bright and is full of energy and optimism, making it hard to believe the road he has travelled, to be where he is now.
We rely on generous donors who believe that young Australians in crisis deserve special care. Your donation is the best way to help keep these vital programs operating.
Sir David Martin Foundation is a 30-year old family foundation, helping young people in crisis. The Foundation is named after the former Governor of NSW and the Martin family continues to drive the vision of Sir David, to give safety, hope and opportunity to all vulnerable young Australians. We are the major funder of Mission Australia’s Triple Care Farm, a unique, holistic treatment centre which each year gives over 200 vulnerable young Australians, aged 16-24, a safe place to get well and prepare for new opportunities.
