Philanthropy Manager

The Role
As the Philanthropy Manager, you will play a vital role in advancing the mission of the Foundation by cultivating and stewarding meaningful philanthropic relationships. You will work closely with the General Manager and the fundraising team to develop the strategy and deliver results to increase major giving, bequests, and funding from grants, trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals, ensuring the sustainability and growth of impactful programs supporting vulnerable young people.


  • Develop key relationships through moves management and implement a solid acquisition plan
  • Engage with donors at events and through face-to-face meetings
  • Create meaningful donor journeys and acknowledgments
  • Manage key partner and stakeholder relationships
  • Provide reports on impact and outcomes

Skills Required
You have experience in relationship-based fundraising, development, sponsorship, or sales with experience in writing funding proposals and grant applications. You are motivated to achieve success with a can-do attitude and genuine interest in the philanthropic sector and can make sound decisions, and manage projects and CRM systems.

Your skills and experience will include;

  • Robust multi-tasking, planning, and creativity skills
  • Strong understanding of prospect research and social impact measurements
  • Ability to produce impactful proposals and donor communication
  • High-level emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, and negotiation skills

Finance Manager

The Role

The role of Finance Manager is responsible for leading the finance functions, business services, secretariat and governance management for the organisation. As part of a new governance structure, the role will also have responsibility for establishing, identifying and implementing financial systems, policies and processes for the Finance function and financial compliance of the organisation. This position will be part-time (2-3 days per week).


  • Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures and internal controls
  • Support the development of the annual budget and ongoing forecasting process for the organisation.
  • Management of the accounts payable and payroll functions.
  • Owner of the General Ledger and uphold data integrity including monthly preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare month end and quarterly reports for management and Board, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Act as Company Secretary and work with CEO on AGM
  • Update ACNC re change in Directors and relevant document
  • Manage internal control frameworks, governance, and risk management policies.
  • Ensure compliance of the organisation’s governing documents, ACNC, ATO and charitable regulations.
  • Management of audit engagement including provision of information

Qualifications, skills and experience required

  • Be CA/CPA qualified with 10 years’ experience (min 1 year in a not for profit) and a strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, audit and internal controls.
  • Be experienced in company secretarial processes.
  • Have detailed knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Have comprehensive understanding of ATO, FBT, superannuation and other regulatory compliance requirements.


  • Be a self-motivated, positive, and resilient leader with excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Respectfully foster culturally sensitive relationships.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • AICD or relevant governance/directorship training will be highly regarded.

Volunteer with us

Donor Administration Volunteer

The Role

The role of the Donor Administration Volunteer is to support the Fundraising Team with weekly and monthly administrative tasks integral to the overall efficiency of the Fundraising team. The role will involve assisting with donation processing, receipting, updating credit card details and communication preferences, and answering emails in the admin inbox.

Key Responsibilities

  • Donation processing and receipting
  • Warm calling supporters to thank, welcome and engage
  • Record keeping and updating of database
  • Updating credit card details on database
  • Supporting the Fundraising team on ad hoc basis, on projects, in-house mailing, or events

What we’re looking for

  • Warm phone manner and great communication skills
  • Computer Skills & experience in using a database, preferably Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, and skilled use of Microsoft office 365 – outlook, word, excel, teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and processes
  • A high-level attention to detail
  • Experience in a non-profit environment
  • Knowledge of fundraising practice

Volunteer shifts

We are looking for a commitment of at least 1 shift per week, for up to 6 months. Shifts are available Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm (hours negotiable).
