More about the work we do

At Sir David Martin Foundation, we see the impact of drugs and alcohol on families when young people find themselves in crisis. For many, substance misuse is a coping strategy to deal with trauma, abuse and mental health challenges. The young people who benefit from the programs we fund have often experienced family breakdown, violence, homelessness and disrupted schooling.

Our aim is to provide youth-specific care to ensure these young people get the right help, tailored to their needs, so they can break the cycle of addiction and live happy, fulfilling lives.

Can we keep the dialogue open?

We'd love to tell you more about the important work we do every day, helping young Australians in crisis. We'll be in touch shortly to share more information on the life-saving programs we fund, such as youth detox, rehabilitation and aftercare services.

Who is Sir David Martin?

Sir David Martin Foundation was established in 1990 by the late Governor of NSW, Sir David Martin and his wife, Lady Martin. They both shared the vision to give safety, hope and opportunity to vulnerable young Australians.

Sir David Martin Foundation believes that young people have the capacity to make sustained, positive change, when given the appropriate support.

The Foundation is the major funder of Mission Australia’s Triple Care Farm, a unique youth-specific addiction treatment centre which gives Australians aged 16-24 a safe place to get well and prepare for new opportunities.

Since 1990, we’ve raised more than $70M to enable best-practice models of treatment for youth drug and alcohol addiction.
